GRAND FINALS 2012 - Day 25.11.2012

This was the last day of Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals without action on the track. After the registration of all drivers and scrutineering of their karts, it’s now time to the teams to work hard, granting that all is set for the first laps in the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve.

GRAND FINALS 2012 - Day 26.11.2012

After the end of scruteenering, which started early this morning for all teams, after a quick lunch break, action began on the track, with the first free practice sessions of all categories. With no transponders on board, the laps were done to “feel the asphalt” only and to get used to the track. So all drivers – or most of them drove “cool and nice”, in order to learn a little more about the Algarve Circuit.

GRAND FINALS 2012 - Day 27.11.2012

Yesterday, all teams and drivers took a first contact with the Algarve track, with no transponders, so without pressure or other kind of restrictions. Today things got warmer after ten o’clock, when free practice 2 started and the Kart-Data guys began to show the world, who is gone to be faster on the Algarve track - during lovely sunny sessions.

GRAND FINALS 2012 - Day 28.11.2012

After yesterday’s two free practice sessions, we could verify that the gap between all drivers is very… very tight! The fact, that they use very similar material grants that all of them have the same chances, and this morning they tried new set-ups or the revised ones, to achieve the best possible lap times in the first qualifying session of the afternoon. Things are getting “warmer and lively” on track, but the weather is still very cold…

GRAND FINALS 2012 - Day 29.11.2012

Drivers started the day with the warm up sessions, all very lively and in almost all categories the lap times were lower, probably because of the track was more warmed by the sun, and the wind stopped. The races in the afternoon were fantastic, with all drivers pushing hard for a good result, but almost everyone using the “fair play mode” to achieve the best lap times in all sessions to be allowed in the Saturday finals.

GRAND FINALS 2012 - Day 30.11.2012

Again the warm up sessions started the day, today with a wet track, but lively as usual. The Micro MAX drivers showed their abilities in the rain, but it was in the afternoon that action got warmer, with the last heats of qualification for semi finals, and the “second chance” series. Fantastic races with all drivers playing fair but pushing hard to reach their purpose of win!
