Gripping conclusion of the DEKM in Genk
Two qualifyings and six races were on the agenda for the pioneers of electric karting. After the last bright sunshine in Kerpen, the weather provided additional excitement this time. On Saturday, several rain showers changed the conditions at the 1,360-metre-long course – the venue of the karting world championship in two weeks – to which the pilots had to put all their driving skills against. The numerous spectators enjoyed demanding and exciting races.
Philipp Britz: "I am proud to be the first DEKM champion ever. It was a great season with lots of fun. After the initial doubts of many karting athletes, we have shown top-class sport in the course of the year. A big thank you to the entire DEKM team for the successful premiere season." In addition to winning the championship, Philipp Britz will also receive a training programme from Porsche Motorsport and he will be invited to an interview with the Deutsche Post Speed Academy.
Positive result of the premiere season
After the successful final in Genk, the DEKM organisation and the BRP-Rotax team were also satisfied. The high performance racing eKart Rotax THUNDeR has ensured balanced races and gripping position fights.
